CHERWELL DISTRICT DIAL-A-RIDE - BANBURY

The door to door mini-bus service, operated by BCTA Ltd which serves the Cherwell District from 0900 - 1700 for elderly and those with impaired mobility who experience difficulty in using conventional public transport.  You have to be registered with BCTA prior to making any bookings.

Dial-A-Ride is.... a bus service that you book the day before you wish to travel.  Requests for the next day’s services will be taken by telephone between 0900 and 1200 daily.  Please give our staff as much flexibility as possible regarding the time you wish to travel.  Between 1200 and 1300 daily, the following day’s schedules will be drawn up to make the fullest use of our buses and to satisfy the maximum number of requests received.

BCTA’s buses are easy to get on and off, being fitted with low steps and wheelchair lifts/ramps.  You can use your Cherwell District Council Tokens on the Dial-A-Ride Buses.  Right click on the link and “Save Target As….” to download our Dial-A-Ride Leaflet. (Adobe Acrobat required).

You can phone the number given below the day before your proposed journey and our helpful staff will be pleased to assist with your booking. (For a journey on Mondays you will need to phone on the Friday before).

The service is available from Monday through to Friday giving 5 days a week cover in the Banbury urban area.  The minimum fare is £1.25per single journey, you can travel within the Banbury Town area.

It may also be possible to include journeys from Villages further a field to Banbury on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.  The maximum single fare is £2 per single journey.

If you need Extra Assistance?

If you have an escort, the standard fare will be charged. Many places that you can visit will provide you with extra assistance when you get there, eg. Banbury Shopmobility, Bus & Train Stations.
